A large Russian online-auction “Molotok.ru,” announced the launch of its own mobile application for OS Android. The application will give users the full functionality – it can be used to buy and display goods for sale, search by keywords, track the progress of transactions, view the ratings of users, etc.

The application has all the necessary functionality to add a full description of the goods – the user can enter a test part, add a picture, fill in information about the terms of payment and delivery of goods. The executive director of “Molotok.ru,” Igor Karpachev reported that an application for OS Android is the second (after the program under the iPhone) mobile application service. In the future the company plans to refine the existing applications and create a new one, possibly under other mobile operating systems.

Microsoft has publicly presented a new member of the Visual Studio family – Visual Studio LightSwitch. Previously this project was known under the Kitty Hawk code name. The new software will be available in conjunction with the editorial Visual Studio Professional, Premium, and Ultimate. The representatives of the software giant claimed that all developers will be able to use LightSwitch, regardless of their level of expertise and technical skills. By using LightSwitch the developers can build business applications directly to the three main areas: desktop applications, “in the cloud”, and Web applications.

The owners of MSDN subscription will be able to download the first public beta version of the product already on 23 August, and shortly after that date LightSwitch will be available for everyone, and it can be downloaded from the Microsoft Download Center. The engineers in Redmond hope to get enough feedback from users of this product that will allow them to release the final version of LightSwitch next year.

Visual Studio LightSwitch comes with special templates and tools, and everything is “placed” in a special simplified development environment, using which developers can build scalable individual business applications that can be easily consistent with existing applications, legacy systems, and Web services. Developers will not be restricted in the choice of hosting options for deployment, or optional third-party plug-ins. Deployment projects (based on a Silverlighttechnology) will become more simplified, since they can work as client applications, web applications or even applications that are compatible with the Windows Azure platform. LightSwitch can be used in conjunction with C # or Visual Basic, and it supports development using such technologies as SQL Server, SQL Azure, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office.

The new software also contains a large amount of additional functionality, such as “drag and drop”, but this time there is no full access to the .NET Framework platform; you’d better open it in a fully functional version of Visual Studio .

Both LightSwitch and WebMatrix are designed for medium software development projects, but they are aimed at different audiences: WebMatrix is an HTML tool, and LightSwitch – Silverlight.

Having duplicate content in Search Engine Optimization is an old issue, and there are still many websites that have problems these issues. They have consequences for your Google ranking. When duplicate content issues do not directly cause a Google ranking penalty, they have other consequences.

First, in case you have duplicate content, Google is going to rank according to which page it considers is original and authoritative. This might not be the correct page, or the page you would expect to rank. If that happens, the wrong URLs will show up in the search results. Second, having lots of duplicate content on a website can make it inefficient for crawlers such as Googlebot to find unique content. Third, duplicate content may significantly increase the crawlable URLs of your website. Since there are a lot of bots that will crawl your content (e.g. Googlebot), this can eat up a considerable portion of your website’s bandwidth and slow it down.

Fourth, your customers can have a problem understanding your website’s content if most of its pages are very similar to each other. This will lower the value of your website in terms of uniqueness and clarity.

Fifth, cases of severe manipulation, such as building doorway pages, can lead to your site being banned in Google.

Sixth, a lot of the same issues can crop up with duplicate content outside of your website. Though most of the time you are not able to prevent this from happening, you must take action if someone has copied your content without your permission, because that is against copyright law.

Finally, if you are just building several domains and copying/syndicating content from other websites, you will not get positive ranking results in Google.

LavaSoft company released a new version of Ad-Aware Free. This utility is designed to find and destroy the so-called “spy software” which collects information about the user and transmits it via the Internet. To infect the computer by spyware is possible by not only using free applications, but even when you install certain versions of commercial programs. Ad-Aware scans your computer for installed SpyWare and removes it from the system. Due to be regularly updated databases the program provides high performance protection. The program also includes antivirus.

Today in ICQ instant messaging was fixed a snatch.exe mass mailing malware, capturing IM-client user control and sending its copies to all the users from the contact list. According to the Yandex.Blogs service, reflecting the pulse of the blogosphere, thousands of people became the victims of a new virus.

According to the bloggers, Snatch not only takes control of the ICQ-account but also changes the password to access the messages service.

Currently snatch.exe is not being detected by all popular antiviruses. In order to avoid the virus it is not recommended to run the bot file. If the virus has still managed to enter the system, it is necessary to disable it through the Windows Task Manager, then remove from the disk and restore the ICQ-account password on the service site. It is recommended to reinstall IM-client and change the password.
